All is quiet these days. Snow is gone and the rain has settled in once again.
I am spending my time alternating between finishing quilt projects and the never ending sorting and sifting of stuff.
We got away for a short visit to see the kids in Portland. It was nice to forget this stuff for a while.
The Ecuadorian lawyer has told us not to buy airline tickets yet, as there is a back log on Paperwork and ours may not be ready by the end of March. we have to be out of the house on March 26th, so I am a bit freaked, but Doug takes it all in stride. I so want to be in Cuenca.
It probably comes as no surprise to anyone, but I do not do well with the "unknown". I need a plan!
This blog has been created so that our family and friends can follow us where ever this new chapter of our lives takes us. On April 15th,2012 we left Abbotsford BC, Canada, to start a new life in Cuenca Ecuador. We have been searching for a place to spend our retirement and last year our search led us to Ecuador.. We knew after only a week in Cuenca that this would be the place to start. Less than one year later, we are here. It still feels like I am dream...............................

A New Year......a New Chapter in life
The house is officially sold. All subjects removed. Deposit paid.
Our lawyer in Ecuador contacted us between Christmas and New Years. Paperwork is on its way to the Consulate. Three months from now we will be in Cuenca, barring any paperwork delay.
I have started listing things on Craigs list. I look around here at all the stuff that has to be disposed of or stored away and it's hard to keep the panic at bay. Are we crazy? Is this insane ?My emotions are a roller coaster.....excitement.....panic......anticipation of the unknown.....fear of the unknown....
Doug seems to be very calm about it all. He has no doubt that this is the right thing for us to do. We started this dream together and now we will see where it goes. I am very lucky to have found my soul mate as my life partner. Let the adventure begin!
